Easy to do indoors, this is a great pass time for Northwest dogs! And it tires a dog really rapidly. Once you learn to communicate what you want to your dog, you will be amazed by their abilities. $100 for 6 weeks. ”

You get the fun and excitement of herding without needing to own or care for livestock, the benefit and fun of training, your dog gets mental and physical exercise, and it helps increase the bond between you and your dog! Your dog does not have to be a herding breed to enjoy this game!” – CCDS

Puppy Romps! @ OHS
When: Friday, September 7th, 5-5:45pm
Where: Oregon Humane Society, Manners Hall
“Socialization is one of the most crucial components to raising a puppy, and that can often be difficult to do while keeping your puppy safe from disease. Exposing your puppy to new dogs when he is young can help prevent behavioral problems as he matures. Puppies can also learn how to play, bite and mouth each other in an appropriate way. Come expose your puppy to other healthy puppies and allow them to run, play and socialize! Our trainers will be on hand to answer questions you have about raising a puppy, potty-training, play-biting and more. Instructor: Jenna Kirby, CPDT (Certified Pet Dog Trainer). We value the socialization of puppies so much that we offer our puppy romps for free! Donations are appreciated.” – OHS

DoveLewis Memorial Art Therapy Workshops

Where: DoveLewis Community Room, 1945 NW Pettygrove, Portland
“One of the best ways to navigate your grief when you lose a pet is memorializing them through art. Research shows that art and healing come from the same source. In fact, it is now known that when a person is creating art or is healing, this person will emit the same brain wave patterns. Art and healing is so powerful that hospitals are incorporating art into patient care. Our Pet Loss Support Director, art therapist and certified grief counselor Enid Traisman, MSW facilitates this series of memorial art workshops. Each month offers a new opportunity to create something unique and take it home with you! This is a free community event. Donations are welcome. Pets welcome in spirit only. Thank you for understanding.” – DoveLewis
